Nasugbu Batangas Revisited

I have frequented Batangas. But this is only the first time I'm writing about it. Last Saturday, we drove to Batangas at around 2pm. We arrived at our destination by 6pm. It's a four hour ride from Manila and the traffic's good. It's the holidays so we're really not expecting any traffic jams at all. But when we got to Silang Cavite, there's a slight congestion on the road. The reason? It was their feast day. There were bands playing on the streets, making the roads a little clogged up. But that's okay. We had fun seeing all the bright colors and the costumes of those who participated in the parade. As we passed by Tagaytay, I tried to take some pictures of the famous Taal Volcano. Unfortunately, I wasn't that successful. I was able to take shots of the pineapple farm though. But as for the smallest volcano, I would have to try my luck about that next time. Visiting Baguio

Ok. So a lot of people have seen this place. But as for me, it's my first time. The travel up there is so long, I must say. Seven hours aboard the bus going up to Baguio and six hours going down is not exactly thrilling. I'm from Manila so that's why it's such a long ride. When we went up there, Kenon Road is closed. I guess it's under rehabilitation so we took Marcos Highway. It's a good thing that the views are good so for seven hours. I kept myself occupied. The biggest challenge was the zigzag road. I didn't like it, so to speak. Seems like the bus would topple over and we're dead meat on the steep ravine. It didn't though, so thank God for that. It was 5pm when we got to Baguio. We boarded the bus at 10am. Yeah, we should have started the journey earlier. But we encountered some problems and that's why the trip started that late in the morning. Anyway, at 5pm, we were worried more about where we should sleep rather than where we should go. I...

Rizal: A Place Near Home

If there's one place that you should go to this Holy Week, a good suggestion would be in the province of Rizal. The area is just a few hours away from Manila. It is adjacent to Pasig City, which makes the province very accessible. Rizal is very popular for Antipolo, the church to go for devout Catholics. The feast of the Shrine of Antipolo happens in May. But during the Holy Week, a walking pilgrimage forms at the Ortigas Center and they would all walk together to the Shrine. Many people tend to join in along the way too, with a few of them barefooted. Aside from Antipolo, there are also other places of interest in the province. One is the rapeling park in Tanay, Rizal. There are also several resorts in the area, such as Club Manila East in Taytay, Lake View in Binangonan, and Thunderbird in Angono, Rizal. Indeed, Rizal is a nature's place right in the city of Manila. Come and visit. You don't have to go far to experience nature's luscious beauty .
